Zing! Your Life and Leadership

Ever notice how some people have “it” and some wonder what “it” is?  Have you started to wonder why some people get noticed and you only get passed by and passed up.  In a highly humorous and engaging presentation style, Nancy Hunter Denney presents her original Zing! Impact Equation demonstrating it’s never just one thing, rather a combination of the person, environment, skill level and minimization of distractions that determine the level of one’s potential influence or charisma.  Zing! is the thing that allows others to “override competing forces to positively influence others.”  Zing! is living life and leadership with an exclamation point and comes from the fundamental belief, “the energy you put out there, is the energy you get to draw from.”  From self-inspection to humility, insights are shared suggesting any person has the potential to increase their influence by recognizing another fundamental belief, “you can’t expect different results by repeating the same behaviors.  It’s time to live life and leadership with an exclamation point. Audience members are challenged to use their aptitude to show their gratitude and turn the many opportunities afforded them into a personal sense of obligation to serve a greater social good. What time is it?  It’s Zing! time.

This keynote is based upon Nancy’s third book:  How to Zing! Your Life and Leadership:21 Insights on Maximizing Your Influence

It is designed to challenge you to fully accept the many contributions you can make to your campus community and why college is "higher" not "lower" education. Watch out! You ve got potential.

The Future is Yours to Create: A Look at Life and Leadership

Why do some people rise to great heights and others consider themselves passed over, passed by or passed up? The answer is simple: Leadership isn't always about a title, sitting in the biggest office or your status in life. Leadership is about living every second with a renewed enthusiasm for seeking ways of impacting the time that follows. Spend time seeking the water fountain, not complaining about how much water isn't in the glass! Five original strategies on living life and leadership to their fullest are offered. After all, life and leadership go hand and hand. You don't get one without the other. [Widely used to open or close significant leadership events and conferences.]

How to Zing! Your Life and Civic Leadership

Gandhi said, "WE must be the change we wish to see in this world." His words don't suggest we sit around talking about making a difference in the world, they call us to act. Zing! is the energy it takes to override competing forces to positively influence others towards a greater social good. Leadership is the making of a difference. Zing! represents a mind set for productive, intelligent and compassionate involvement by citizens of all ages, races and beliefs with the reminder one's vision of the world must be 20/20. Using personal explorations, interactive experiences, stories and shared gifts, audience members will learn what Martin Luther King, Jr. meant when he said, "There comes a time when your silence is betrayal." Various strategies for thinking globally and acting locally will be presented along with the inspiration to change the world... one person at a time. It's always Zing! time.

Life by Design

The one thing most people have in common is their kitchen drawer... you know the one. It can't be opened because it's jam-packed with miscellaneous items no longer needed. Stale gum, a broken pencil, dead batteries... despite what goes into this kitchen drawer, nothing ever seems to come out. Is it out of ear? Are there items or people or places or jobs, etc. that take up space in people's lives that need to go so a more meaningful life can reside?

This humorous, insightful, and practical one-hour keynote lecture (also available in workshop format) challenges audience members to "dump the drawer!" That's right. Just empty it into the trash. nancy Hunter Denney creatively compares making life improvements to making home improvements. She offers a five-phase model for identifying what needs to be cleaned up, remodeled, renovated, or complete rebuilt in all aspects of a person's life and then inspires audience members to put on their overalls and get to work!

Nancy believes that change is easy - it's believing one is worthy of change that keeps people stuck and unhappy. When this happens, all aspects of one's life are impacted (i.e., employees resist new ideas, staff members don't work to become more of a team, individual relationships are characterized by poor communication skills, etc.) It's all connected. Just like the floors of one's residence are connected to the walls, this keynote emphasizes the role of self-esteem in making life improvements.

This keynote is based on Nancy's first motivational book, Life by Design.

A Time of Holding On and A Time of Letting Grow

Your student is anxious, excited, ready, unprepared, nervous, thrilled... and the list goes on! Strangely enough, so are you. The transition between high school and college is exactly that - change. Not only are there important developmental stages unfolding in front of your very eyes, but you are in a unique position to assist (rather than resist) your "soon to be college" student. In a humorous and conversational approach, the speaker seeks to provide realistic expectations around the transitioning college student, while suggesting rather forwardly - it's time to hold on... while letting them grow. Tips for parenting a college student will also be offered for those open to "parenting and partnering" with whatever institution of higher learning awaits your student. One of the greatest outcomes of this program is the opportunity for parents and guardians - who have gone through it already - to share their expertise!

Why Not Now? The Urgency of Your Greatness

What's the urgency of your life and leadership? Can you afford to leave your greatness up to chance, or are you willing (and able) to raise the bar of your life and leadership? When "good" seems to have gotten you this far, it's time to value time - every second and challenge yourself to reach higher, think harder and lift heavier! It's time to accept your role in making the world a better place by also caccepting a simple reality: You've got potential! This humorous and inspiraitonal keynote will offer five strategies on how to act with urgency, seeking daily to ask, for example, "How can I help?" as opposed to "What's in it for me?" Warning: There is greatness among us and within you!
