The Future is Yours to Create!

Starting today and in many different ways the future is yours to create. You can make a difference. Believe it. Respect it. Live it. Life and leadership go hand and hand. So, take someone's hand and walk with them. Talk with them. Listen to them.

Try to understand them.
Hear what it is they aren't telling you.
Be empathetic. Walk in their shoes. Take care of their souls. Soul to soul. Heart to heart. Hand to hand.
These are the true mediums of human communication, everything else is just a technological feat.
Turn off your computer. Turn on your Expresso machine. Hang out near the mail boxes.
See who gets a care package. Make them share.
Follow them around campus until they do.
Share your talents with them. Share your thoughts.
Share your time. How you spend your time is the only true measurement of your priorities in life. Manage your time.
Learn to say "No!" Be willing to say "I don't know." Then go find out. Be willing to say, "I'm sorry." It opens more doors than saying, "I'm right." Be willing to ask, "How can I help?" Then pitch right in. Yell, "Help!" when you need it.

You are unique. You are one of a kind. You can reach great heights by raising your hand. Raise both hands. Raise your aspirations. Raise your hopes. Raise your standards. When you hold others to high expectations, they will strive to reach them. When you lower your standards, they will surely meet them.

Be truthful.
What goes around comes around.
Be willing to be disliked for doing what's right.
You may find yourself alone, at least you'll like the company.
Practice changing. The more you change the better you get at it.
When you change yourself, you have begun to change the world. Be the right kind of risk taker. Be willing to succeed and be willing to fail. The greatest gift, often wrapped in failure, is education.
Education is a gift.

Education is a privilege.
Education is expensive.
Ignorance will cost us all.
Get smarter. Never be bored. Boredom is not a state of mind. Boredom is the state of not using your mind. Never forget what you've been given. A Life. Not just any life, you're life. Life is meant to be lived. Life is what you get when you're looking for something else. Put your life to good use.

Follow your dreams.
Don't listen to fear, beer and peer pressure.
Believe in your potential. On your mark. Get set. Go!
