Prior to becoming a professional speaker in 1993, Nancy Hunter Denney worked in higher education. She earned a Masters Degree in College Student Personnel in 1884 from Bowling Green State University and began a career in student affairs at Case Western Reserve University in student activities. From there she went to Worcester Polytechnic Institute in 1996 where she served as the assistant dean of students until resigning in 1993.
Considered one of the more credible and experienced speakers on the college campus today, Nancy Hunter Denney has spoken on over 650 college campuses, as well as, being a frequent keynote speaker at state, regional and national conferences in higher education. She also is well known for her work with elementary education teachers and high school students. As a statewide speaker for high school leadership organizations and student governments, Nancy inspires today’s youth to create their own future. From programs on bullying to college commencements to state departments of education, Nancy Hunter Denney values the opportunity to praise the many benefits of education.
Two of the greatest lessons offered by Nancy center around effective teaching strategies and staying motivated to work in education! As an educator, Nancy Hunter Denney believes “it’s not how we teach, it’s how they learn” and uses a host of teaching techniques on stage or in workshops to better reach and teach her audiences. She trains the trainers, teaches the teachers and has a frequent presence at regional and national conferences giving professional staff development sessions.
